Ginna Evans

Ginna Evans combines an accomplished career in healthcare and health information with an equally impressive track record of service to the AHIMA enterprise. Evans has spent the past ten years in the IM Specialties Division at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. Prior to her work at Emory, she held the Assistant Director of Medical Records position at the DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur, GA. During her tenure at DeKalb Medical, Evans served as president of the Georgia Health Information Management Association (GHIMA) not once, but twice--first in 1993/1994 and again in 2007. Other volunteer leadership positions on Evans's resume include Chair of the Triumph Awards committee, Chair of the Nominating Commitee, serving on the AHIMA Foundation Board, and participation as a member on Nominating, Fellowship, and Bylaws committees. In addition, DeVry University, Augusta University (formerly MCG), and Dalton State College have all benefited from Evans's involvement on their HIM advisory boards.

A Fellow of AHIMA, Evans holds several degrees--a Masters of Business Administration from Mercer University, a Bachelor's of Medical Records Administration from Emory University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Emory University.

She is the recipient of the 2018 Trust HCS Trust Builder Award and the 2011 AHIMA Mentor Award.
