The board of directors holds and exercises all corporate authority and fiduciary duties of AHIMA except as otherwise provided by law, AHIMA's Articles of Incorporation, or these AHIMA Bylaws.
Health information is complex, nuanced, and ever-changing. The Council for Excellence in Education (CEE) was created to enhance the health information profession, plan for its future through education, and provide HI professionals with a way to get involved in the process.
The CEE advises AHIMA on education and workforce matters and their collective expertise strengthens the organization’s vision, mission, and strategies set by the AHIMA Board of Directors. The CEE also guides various AHIMA workgroups and the Professional Certificate Approval Program.
The AHIMA Foundation advances health information by supporting the people, research, and resources that elevate the HI profession.
Through grants, scholarships, apprenticeships, workforce development, and educational programs, the AHIMA Foundation prepares HI professionals for career opportunities and advancement within the HI industry.
The AHIMA Foundation, founded in 1962, is the 501(c)(3) charitable affiliate of the AHIMA Enterprise, dedicated to providing resources that support continuous innovation and advances in HI. The role of the AHIMA International Strategic Advisory Council is to help AHIMA expand the reach of its international brand and elevate its position within the healthcare ecosystem. The council guides the international work of AHIMA by helping advance the mission and vision of the organization.
The CEO Advisory Council has the responsibility of advising AHIMA’s CEO. They also help advance the mission and vision of AHIMA by sharing knowledge and counsel on various business matters, providing credibility through their names and reputations, and by helping AHIMA maintain a focus on the future.
